For Credit Internships
Undergraduate College of Business Internship Courses and Requirements
Undergraduate business students interested in completing a credit-earning internship should submit an experience request on Handshake to begin the approval and registration process to enroll in one of the internship courses below. Students will need to have an internship in place prior to applying for the internship course. The College of Business major-specific internship courses are not repeatable. Students must apply for the course you intend on taking the semester before the internship is taking place – if looking to take the course in the Fall semester you will need to apply in the Summer semester.

MAN4940: Management Internship Course
Counts for: Management Elective, Upper Division Business Elective, or Free Elective Credits
Prerequisite(s):
- Fully admitted and declared into the College of Business - Open to ALL College of Business Majors
- Junior or Senior status with a 2.5 GPA or Higher
- Taken and passed MAN3025 with a C or better
ENT4940: Entrepreneurship Internship Course
Counts for: Entrepreneurship Elective, Upper Division Business Elective, or Free Elective Credits
Prerequisite(s):
- Fully admitted and declared Management with an Entrepreneurship and Innovation (ENTS) concentration in the College of Business
- Junior or Senior status with a 2.5 GPA or Higher
- Taken and passed MAN3025 with a C or better
MAR4946: Marketing Internship Course
Counts for: Marketing Elective, Upper Division Business Elective, or Free Elective Credits
Prerequisite(s):
- Fully admitted and declared Marketing as your major or minor in the College of Business
- Junior or Senior status with a 2.5 GPA or Higher
- Taken and passed MAR3023 with a C or better
FIN4940: Finance Internship Course
Counts for: Finance Elective, Upper Division Business Elective, or Free Elective Credits
Prerequisite(s):
- Fully admitted and declared Finance in the College of Business
- Internship must be in the Finance industry – if taking FIN4940, not eligible to take REE4940 or RMI4940
- Junior or Senior status with a 2.5 GPA or Higher
- Taken and passed FIN3403 with a C or better
REE4940: Real Estate Internship Course
Counts for: Finance Elective, Upper Division Business Elective, or Free Elective Credits
Prerequisite(s):
- Fully admitted and declared Finance in the College of Business
- Internship must be in the Real Estate industry – if taking REE4940, not eligible to take FIN4940 or RMI4940
- Junior or Senior status with a 2.5 GPA or Higher
- Taken and passed FIN3403 with a C or better
RMI4940: Risk Management and Insurance Internship Course
Counts for: Finance Elective, Upper Division Business Elective, or Free Elective Credits
Prerequisite(s):
- Fully admitted and declared Finance in the College of Business
- Internship must be in the Risk Management and Insurance industry – if taking RMI4940, not eligible to take REE4940 or FIN4940
- Junior or Senior status with a 2.5 GPA or Higher
- Taken and passed FIN3403 with a C or better
ISM4940: Management Information Systems Internship Course
Counts for: Management Information Systems Elective, Upper Division Business Elective, or Free Elective Credits
Prerequisite(s):
- Fully admitted and declared Management Information Systems in the College of Business
- Internship must be in the Management Information Systems or Operations Management industry to be eligible to receive course credit
- Junior or Senior status with a 2.5 GPA or Higher
HSA4817: Health Administration Practicum
Required for all Undergraduate Health Administration Students
Prerequisite(s):
- 2.5 Minimum FAU GPA
- Complete ALL six Health Administration core courses with at least a “C”
- HSA3111, HSA4110, HSA4140, HSA4423, HSA4700, and HSA4170
- Have a preceptor and practicum site secured for the practicum experience
- Required orientation for the course through the department
HFT4941: Hospitality Industry Experience Course (0 Credit Course)
Required for all Hospitality Major and Minor Students
- Hospitality Major: Requires 1000 hours of suitable industry experience prior to graduation
- Hospitality Minor: Requires 500 hours of suitable industry experience prior to graduation

IDS3949: Professional Internship Course
Free Elective Credits
Managed through the Main Career Center – Open to all FAU Students Prerequisite(s):
- Must have free elective credits available to take the course for credit – meet with an College of Business Academic Advisor to determine if there are free elective credits available
- Must have completed at least one full semester at FAU
- Be enrolling with an internship that is not being counted for credit or transcript notation in any other course

- Taken and passed ISM6026 with a C or better and one other course in the M.S. with Major in Information Technology and Management program or in the M.B.A., Management Information Systems or Operations Management tracks
HSA6855: Graduate Health Administration Internship
Required for all Masters of Health Administration Candidates
Requirements:
- Work 15-20 hours per week in an organization that diagnoses, produces products for, treats, or cares for frail, sick, or injured people, or makes grants to or pays for care in such organizations.
- During the internship, the student must conduct a project on a subject of use to the organization.
