2025 Convocation Business Honorees

The College of Business shone brightly with several notable achievements at the 56th annual Honors Convocation at Florida Atlantic, hosted by President Adam Hasner and Interim Provost Russell Ivy at the University Theatre, recognizing the university's most outstanding students and faculty.
Gabriella Figueiredo, a management major with a leadership concentration, was recognized as a University Scholar. Gabriella's dedication to her studies and her exceptional academic performance earned her this prestigious honor.
In the area of research, Alexander Aranda, was honored as the Undergraduate Researcher of the Year, receiving the Allen E. Smith Award. Alexander credits his economics major with a minor in applications of Artificial Intelligence for fueling his passion for finance and technology.
The College of Business also celebrated the achievements of its first-year students, with Maya Desai being named the Distinguished First-year Undergraduate Student of the Year. As part of the honors program and international business student, Maya's remarkable performance and enthusiasm in her initial year have set her on a path to continued success and leadership throughout the remainder of her university journey.
Katarina Brant, Ph.D., instructor in the College of Business’s Management Department with expertise in international business, culture and leadership, received the FAU Online Faculty Award. Dr. Brant's dedication to online teaching and her innovative approaches to education have greatly enhanced the learning experience for her students, demonstrating the college's commitment to excellence in both traditional and digital classrooms.
Adding to the list of accolades are the Student-athlete of the Year recipients Michelle Horan and Bryan Boully. Michelle, an MBA student with a concentration in marketing, was recognized for her academics and exceptional performance in women's soccer. Bryan, a pitcher for the men's baseball team and accounting major, looking to start his Master of Accounting degree this fall, was also honored for his work on the field and in the classroom. These student athletes' dedication exemplifies the balance of athletic and academic excellence that the College of Business encourages.
The achievements of this year’s honorees highlight the exceptional talent and hard work of the students and faculty within the College of Business. The Honors Convocation 2025 the vibrant academic community at Florida Atlantic University, where excellence is nurtured and celebrated.
