Undergraduate Programs

Complete the Departmental Supplemental Application

Item 1: Complete Supplemental Application and Upload Current Resume

Item 2: Complete FAU Undergraduate Application

Item 3: Submit Official Documents to FAU

Applying with 0-30 College Credits Completed
Applicants who have never attended college before, or who have taken less than 30 college credits will be prompted to send in the following:

  • All Official High School Transcripts - The most recent transcripts from all high schools (secondary school) that was attended prior to graduation.
  • Official Test Scores - Official test scores for the SAT or ACT, including the writing section.
  • Official University Transcripts (if applicable) - Transcripts are needed for each institution attended. This includes any dual enrollment credits earned while still in high school.

Applying with 31-60 College Credits Completed
Applicants who have taken between 31-60 college credits will be prompted to send in the following:

  • All Official High School Transcripts - The most recent transcripts from all high schools (secondary school) that was attended prior to graduation.
  • Official University Transcripts - Transcripts are needed for each institution attended. This includes any dual enrollment credits earned while still in high school.

Applying with over 60 Credits (AA degree) or a 2nd Bachelor’s Degree
If you completed over 60 college credits, received an AA degree, or have a conferred Bachelor’s degree, you will be prompted to send in the following:

  • Official University Transcripts - Transcripts are needed for each institution attended. This includes any dual enrollment credits earned while still in high school.

*International Students - If you completed all or part of your education abroad, a translation and evaluation of work completed at each institution will be required. Transcripts should be sent to one of the NACES accredited evaluation services for course-by-course evaluation and overall GPA. Please see a list of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) members.

**Exam Credits - Students may receive credits through four exam programs: Advanced Placement (AP), Advanced International Certificate in Education (AICE), International Baccalaureate (IB) and College Level Examination Program (CLEP). Official test scores sent directly from the testing center to FAU are required in order to award credits.

***GED - Students who are pursuing admission as either a first time college student or a transfer, and who have completed a GED, must submit the transcripts from the institution where the GED was completed. This submission should also include GED exam scores.

Item 4 (International Students Only): Submit Unofficial TOEFL or IELTS Exam Score
Results of the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) may be required of students whose first language is not English. Current FAU admission requirements are a score of 550 on the paper-based test (TOEFL PBT), or 80 on the internet-based version (TOEFL iBT). Also, we accept IELTS instead of TOEFL with the minimum score of 6.5. Information about IELTS can be obtained from the IELTS website. FAU now offers TOEFL in the Boca Raton campus.

Item 5: Decision and Next Steps
Upon complete review of the FAU Undergraduate Application, you will be informed of your admission status. If accepted, your admissions coordinator will send you information for the next steps. 

 

Graduate Programs

Applicants that have completed the TOEFL or IELTS, please upload your unofficial score. This is only required for students on an F-1 visa where English is not the primary language in their home country. Applicants who have completed a minimum of two years of post-secondary education in the United States are exempt from this requirement.

Decision and Next Steps

Upon complete review of the Supplemental Application documents, you will be informed of your admission status. If accepted, your admissions coordinator will send you information for the next steps to complete the FAU application.
